Peaky Blinders is a British crime drama series that follows the Peaky Blinders, a criminal gang based in Birmingham, England, and their leader, Thomas Shelby, in the 1920s and 1930s. The series is set in 1900s England and centers on a family of mixed Irish Traveller and Romani origins. The Shelby family return to Birmingham after serving in the British Army during World War I, and become bookmakers, racketeers, and gangsters. They control the city through bribery, violence, extortion, and illegal trafficking. Shelby has ambitions beyond Birmingham, and plans to build on his business empire and dispatch anyone who gets in his way
